NEW FORUM IS ONLINE!

Greetings to everyone!
A good news - our forum is open and awaiting visitors, as usual. For that, we are thankful to our comrade Yuri Parovin (aka Yurikel). The bad news is that we are forced to start "from scratch", because any hope of restoring our old database is almost gone. Neither the less, we are open again, and we are sure that we can re-fill this area with new content, because we have so much more fun ahead of us!
The work on the project goes on!

Forum problems

Our forums are down due to some nasty technical problems… We cannot tell for sure, but perhaps we will have to establish a completely new forum, and this may take a while. So please, visit our site on regular basis for further updates.

New (old) ships…

For those of you who are familiar with mission creation for “Babylon 5: I’ve Found Her” prequel there is this little “Earth Alliance ships” update pack available for download with fully functioning:
  • Hyperion-class heavy cruiser
  • Olympus-class corvette
Hyperion-class was already present in “Danger and Opportunity” prequel-campaign, but wasn’t armed and properly scripted. Olympus-class is a new addition.

These models were created 5 years ago by our friend and former 3D Artist — Henrik Nordgren. They had been waiting for the right hour to come. We can’t say they are remarkable eye-candy, especially the Olympus (she doesn't have very accurate geometry), but these ships are fine enough for custom missions.

If you happen to find any troubles with these ships, please let us know about it.

Happy New Year!

Babylon 5: I've Found Her - Black Omega

“You know, it's going to be new year in a little.
Maybe 2006 is the year that we redefine everything, make it mean something again.
Because we come…”

No slackers in the Black Omegas!

Space Dream Factory is proud to announce the next installment of the “I’ve Found Her” story — a brand-new game called “Babylon 5: I’ve Found Her — Black Omega”!

Babylon 5: I've Found Her - Black Omega

“There are things going on out there that you know nothing about.
Threats to the human race that no one ever hears about, because we stopped them.
There are dangers all around us.
And whether you like us or not, we may be all that stands between you
and the abyss…”

— Alfred Bester

Black Omega is the elite Starfury squadron attached to the Psi Corps. This small but capable task force could be the last line of defense for all of humankind, although there are just a few people on Earth and other colonies who are even aware of their existence, let alone their names…

Now it is your turn to join Black Omega squadron with Nikolai Shevchenko, the decorated veteran pilot who left Earthforce to seize his true destiny among his own kin, the Psi Corps.

But to become a true Black Omega member, it is essential not only to learn how to fly a spaceship, but also how to gain control of the fragile and unsteady sail of your own thoughts, emotions, and mental powers. Your mind could be a powerful weapon, and it will bring you victory even when there will be no ship’s armor, ion engines or plasma cannons to back you up.

The new dramatic story will take you from low Mars orbit and the well-known Proxima system to undiscovered places in the far reaches of Galaxy! You will see the true vastness of space in the dark edges of distant star systems, and giant gas planets with shiny rings and icy moons.

You will visit familiar (and unfamiliar) places from the vast, detailed universe of Babylon 5, and you will also meet familiar (and unfamiliar) characters along your way. How will you deal with them? Will you make new friends, and avoid making new enemies? Will you make it through in one piece and complete your mission objectives? And, if you think about it, it wouldn’t hurt to keep a low profile, too…

The Black Omega is much more than a squadron — you are family, you are kin. There will be desperate battles to be fought, cosmic wonders to be seen, dark secrets to be revealed… and friends to be avenged…

“Babylon 5: I’ve Found Her — Black Omega” is coming out as soon as it’s done! Wait for further announcements to learn more about story, features and gameplay nuances!

Space Dream Factory — Press Release

A highly anticipated update called “Skirmish Pack” for the popular SDF game “Babylon 5: I’ve Found Her — Danger and Opportunity” is finally released!

Skirmish Pack
Since the release in December 2003 of the original game, “Babylon 5: I’ve Found Her — Danger and Opportunity”, based on the highly popular Babylon 5 TV series created by J. Michael Straczynski, the entire SDF team worked hard to make it even better. Now, after many months of work, it is finally done! Offering gamers the ultimate gameplay experience, “Skirmish Pack” gives you some new amazing features, retaining everything from the original release and adding much more!

The long-anticipated mission simulator allows players to re-experience missions from the original campaign, or create and play their own missions! It also includes the so-called “Skirmish mode”, or custom mission generator, where you can test your skills against the various opponents (including some of the alien ships) in three types of mission scenarios: assault, defense and simple skirmish. In this mode players will be able to enjoy virtually unlimited replayability of their custom-built skirmishes.

A major addition to the game is the LAN multiplayer with top number of 8 allowed players, with several types of scenarios: cooperative, free-for-all and team deathmatch. Challenge your friends in multiplayer battles, shooting, sliding, rolling and getting the large doses of adrenaline-surging action! Or join them in cooperative mode, helping each other to fight your way throught the well-known campaign missions from the single-player game!

Another important addition is the graphics. The real-time volumetric shadows give more depth and realism to the rendered scenes, creating a new visual experience. The sharp detail textures provide the best look on ships and installations at close range, eliminating the blurry texture enlargement. The advanced particle system effects improve the quality of the special effects, such as explosions, fire, smoke and debris from destroyed ships.

Even-better looking real-time 3D graphics, new gameplay features and multiplayer mode, all taking place in a detailed simulation of the Babylon 5 universe, must keep players busy perfecting their skills, until they eventually meet a new challenge! Wait for further announcements from SDF team — more good news are coming soon!

The “Skirmish Pack” is available in 2 packages:
  • Update Package — requires the initial release of the game in order to be installed and played (73 MB).
  • Full Package — includes the original and updated game data, can be installed and played as standalone game (257 MB).
